Looking for answers
A series of conceptual cover explorations for The Diagnosis Gap, a report exploring the space between recognising that something is wrong and understanding why.
Each direction takes a different approach to visualising uncertainty in healthcare. Obscured imagery, fragmented compositions, light, shadow and negative space are used to represent partial understanding and the often unclear journey between symptoms, questions and answers.
Typography was treated as an integral part of the concept, with scale, placement and interruption explored across each cover. In some directions, the title itself becomes part of the visual metaphor, creating a physical or visual gap within the composition.
Moving away from conventional healthcare imagery, the project explores a more editorial and emotionally driven visual language for communicating uncertainty, balancing clinical subject matter with ambiguity, vulnerability and curiosity.
